Playing the same tune again and again . . another one bits the dust!

Operation Midland has taken its toll on many lives. As part of a wider umbrella of investigations by Scotland Yard, dubbed Operation Fairbank, into allegations of abuse involving senior politicians and high-profile figures.

I'm the son of a former serviceman and what I gleamed from my father was how important honour, service, trust, the truth  and propriety are in life. But, also how important it is to try and correct a wrong or any damage one causes.

Yesterday, the BBC reported after the release of Lord Bramall from child abuse allegations -

"Lord Bramall, a Normandy veteran who retired from the House of Lords in 2013, told the BBC "there wasn't one grain of truth" in the allegations, made against him by a man in his 40s.

He said the letter (the standard letter on release from investigation) the Met had sent him was "pretty grudging, but at least I'm in the clear". Lord Bramall added it was "complete self-justification" by the police, who he claimed "had not behaved very well". The Met said it had informed a man in his 90s who was interviewed on 30 April 2015 by officers working on Operation Midland that he would face no further action.

The force added: "Following a thorough investigation officers have concluded there is insufficient evidence to request the Crown Prosecution Service to consider charging the man with any offences."

Although never arrested and only interviewed, Field Marshal Edwin Noel Westby Bramall, Baron Bramall of Bushfield, KG, GCB, OBE, MC, JP, DL,  will live (sadly) much of his life shrouded in doubt and has been subject to 'dis-honour' by a complainant who has proved to be unreliable and has been subject to the chuntering of the Metropolitan Police .

Sadly, all his good service beyond his military career, during which he was awarded the Military Cross and his dedicated service to his country through to April 2013, when he retired from public office, will be blurred into insignificance in public minds and the police get away with it again. He is unlikely to see any redress for this sordid event of a weakest 'evidenced' allegation from an a now considered unreliable witness.

BBC News  Article

It's about time the Police moved from their adolescent singing-along with their 'head banging' music, no doubt throwing their hands in the air as they screech, on the enquiry of those accused,  ‘another one bits the dust!’ They need to start recognising  ‘what some complainants motives really are’, more over,  how spirited these so called  ‘victims’ have become towards gaining financial compensation, through 'ambulance chasing' solicitors! Lord Bramell, without spending a 'Kings ransom', will not see any redress or an apology as he falls to becoming yet another, amongst many, real victims from this action by the police.

Update - 14th October 2016

It has been reported that Lord Bramell has received a 'Private' apology from the Metropolitan Police Service. This is good news for Lord Bramell, but sadly many others (myself included), wlll never see an apology (but there is always hope) as we do not have the means to achieve this form of minor redress. This apology is only a portion in value to seeing the Met Police Chief Commissioner standing on the steps of 'New Scotland Yard' giving a full apology in public.
