Adopting American policing . .

Daytime TV (much of which is  poor in quality, entertains many who have little aspiration and offers little in education terms) has become my buffer to absolute loneliness.

Channel 48 (Freeview) broadcasts a range of 'B' rated films, many of these are brutally pixelated, most are in black and white, but do have the charm of a good story line. Thus, I watch them.

A 1951 film, of which the title escapes me, made an interesting critique on an american police officers take on arrest.

Police Officer "Yer recon he is guilty?"

Captain: "Everyone we arrest is guilty and they go to jail, those who get off just have good lawyers".

Another cultural import (as curropt as the 'compensation society') that we have adopted in the UK, chucking the good ole 'Innocent until proven guilty' out of the window!
